there are easy ways to make a big difference at regina dominican through planned giving.

here are several ways that you can make a gift which not only helps the school; but could help you and your estate.

bequests- the most popular, for a reason

giving through your will is the most popular way to make an estate gift and one of the most significant ways donors can benefit regina dominican, and represent one of the school’s most important sources of individual support. through a provision in your written and executed will, you can make a gift in the form of cash, securities, real estate or personal property.

consider this sample language:

i give and devise to regina dominican high school (tax id #36-2378515), located in wilmette, il, all (or state a percentage) of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate, both real and personal, to be used for its general support (or for the support of a specific fund or program).

insurance- an easy way to make a gift

do you have a paid whole life policy that you no longer need? does your employer provide you with life insurance that you have not included in your estate plans? consider gifting the policy to regina dominican as the policy’s beneficiary.

retirement plan assets- getting full value to the very end

tax deferred retirement assets in you 401(k), 403(b) or traditional ira are great for you and your spouse. unfortunately, your heirs will never see the full value of what remains. once these assets pass to someone other than your spouse, the taxes you did not pay are due in full- substantially reducing what your heirs receive. name regina dominican as the beneficiary instead, and the asset will pass from your estate free of all income and estate taxes.

charitable gift annuities- fixed income for the rest of your life

a charitable gift annuity (cga) is a contract between you and regina dominican. you make a gift of at least $5,000 and we send you a payment each month, quarter, or year (your choice) for an amount depending on your age.

to celebrate your generosity, we will include you in our dominican heritage society, which recognizes families and individuals, like you, who have told us of their intentions to include regina dominican in their wills or other estate plans.
